Civilian First Responder (CFR) is an emergency medical course that is designed to prepare civilians to respond during active-threat incidents. Attendees will be taught to treat and stabilize wounds involving major hemorrhages or penetrating injuries to the chest and/or abdomen.
The training is based on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) guidelines and is presented in the context of an active-threat environment. Tactical care by definition is out-of-hospital care given in hostile situations by trained individuals. A significant focus will be on preparation, tactics, and reality-based training techniques.
Our goal is to close the knowledge gap between first responders and civilians. In the moments after a crisis, the time it takes first responders to arrive is the most important. We recognize everyday people can play a key role in helping to save lives before first responders arrive.
